Following Ofgem’s release of the Targeted Charging Review (TCR) today, BSUoS as an embedded benefit will be removed as a credit and imposed as a charge on embedded generation. The apparent reason behind this is to align distribution connected generation on the same basis as transmission connected generation, who currently pay BSUoS.

Ofgem has stated that they recognise these changes will impact heavily on renewables. The alteration will see some smaller sites lose £5/MWh and larger sites will see the transmission charge increase. BHA will be responding to this consultation and as well, continue to monitor and will update members with further information.
