Details :: Richard Langley, trading as Search Hydro Ltd, is an independent hydropower consultant with 25 years experience in developing hydropower projects. He can provide a range of services to project developers and landowners for the development, construction, and operation and maintenance of small hydro schemes. These services include feasibility studies and site surveys, project management through the development process, (preliminary scheme design, preparing applications for planning consent/water licences/grid connections), detailed design of the civil engineering components (weirs and intakes, pressure pipelines and powerhouses) and acting as advisor to the client during scheme construction. SEARCH Hydro Ltd have also managed civil construction contracts for small hydro electric projects. The successful development of a scheme, from feasibility study through to commissioning, requires a multi-disciplinary team. Richard therefore often works in collaboration with environmental consultants, hydrologists, electrical/mechanical and geotechnical consultants, equipment suppliers and contracting engineers. With a history of working with established associates, Richard is now in a position to offer clients a ‘water to wire’ service.
