Business Rates

Postby MorHydro » Tue Feb 07, 2017 10:46 am

As I am sure most of the BHA members are aware there is a proposed huge hike in Business Rates for feed in tariff hydro plants in Scotland, Wales and England. The BHA is working hard to bring this to the attention of the relevant governments. If this affects you please let us know......

I am pleased to report that following our submission made to the Council in respect of Small Business Rates Relief, they have today agreed that the rates liability is reduced to zero both retrospectively and going forward.

Henry, Can you provide more details? Either on the forum or if you prefer privately to the BHA. As you may know there seems to be an end in sight for most hydro schemes in Scotland although there is still much to work out. However that is not the same in England and Wales so any progress by members on their schemes would be interesting news for the BHA.

We applied to the council for Small Business Rates and because the project conformed with their requirements, e.g. only one property asset, the application was approved and backdated.

We used business rates specialist:

Phillip Knapman MRICS
Director
E: phillip@krltdbrs.co.uk
M: 07507860428 | T: 01244 911953

Knapman Roocroft Limited is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Registered Office:
Herons Way, Chester Business Park, Chester, CH4 9QR.
