DAVID WILLIAMS CEng. FIMechE, - Chief Executive Officer, BHA

 

David Williams has been the Chief Executive of the BHA since January 2006. Previously he was seconded to UK Trade & Investment (the UK Government overseas trade support agency) as an Export Promoter for Hydropower In this position he assisted export business and promoted companies in the hydropower sector. In 2004 he was also appointed as a Visiting Professor of Engineering to the University of Edinburgh. From 1964 to 1995, he served in roles of increasing responsibility for Gilbert, Gilkes & Gordon Ltd, manufacturer and supplier of water turbine generating equipment, ultimately overseeing sales and marketing for the Small Hydropower market worldwide. He then established and managed a regional office in Kuala Lumpur covering South and South East Asia. He was elected as a Council Member of the British Hydropower Association in 2000.

ELLAN LONG BA(Dist.) - Operations & Marketing Manager, BHA

 

Ellan Long joined the BHA in 2003 and has been instrumental in the Association’s growth and raised profile. Ellan holds a Business Studies Degree and has over 20 years commercial experience, mainly in the construction and property industries, as well as leading the ethical and environmental section of a leading national fashion company.

NICKI SALMOND - Operations Assistant, BHA

 

Nicki Salmond joined the BHA in 2006 after 17 years with JPMorgan, a large US investment bank. Her experience encompasses that of a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager in the financial IT sector. Nicki also works as the Development Manager for Cranborne Community Theater and has managed several voluntary projects benefitting children in the local community. She is also a volunteer for a national animal charity. Her diverse experiences bring a fresh approach to the Association.

ADRIAN ABBOTT - Policy and Consultations Manager, BHA

 

After over 25 years working on overseas trade promotion for the Department of Trade and Industry, Adrian was seconded to the BHA from September 2002 to December 2004. Since leaving the DTI in January 2005 he has continued to work for the BHA in apart-time capacity.
