STEVE CRYER - BHA Council Member

Steve has been a member of the BHA since 1997 a council member, a former Chairman and is a Governing Board Member of the European Hydropower Association (ESHA). Steve is a Director of the Devon Association of Renewable Energy (DARE) and Associate Lecturer, Faculty of Science & Technology, University of Plymouth, having retired from full time work in 2008 his current activities include work in the Micro-Hydro, Anaerobic Digestion, Biomass, Solar Energy, Wind Power, Heat Pump Systems and Energy Efficiency fields, for commercial, domestic, agriculture, local education, local and regional government authorities. Steve trained as an engineer at the RNDTC and worked on weapon systems for the Royal Navy. He joined the Central Electricity Generating Board gaining experience in power generation in Nuclear, Oil, Hydro and HV systems. On privatisation of the electricity industry Steve joined N.Power working in hydropower and subsequently with the water utility, South West Water Ltd, where he was responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of their hydropower operation, until 2008.
